For many years, Moringa has been used mainly by people in Africa and Asia. Moringa oleifera is from Moringaceae family and is the most widely cultivated and used species from the genus of Moringa. In English, it is called, ” Drumstick tree”, derived from the appearance of the long, slender, triangular seed pods. It is also called, “Horseradish tree”, due to the taste of the leaves, which can be used as a rough substitute for horseradish. Moringa is referred by other names like, The miracle Tree and Mother’s best friend. Moringa is life sustaining because it is rich in minerals, vitamins (A, B and C ) calcium, protein, antioxidants and amino acids. The whole plant can be utilized from the roots to the leaves.
